The Compass Overnight Program
In line with its mission to support neurodiverse young adults, the Compass Program has launched the innovative Compass Overnight Program—an initiative designed to promote independence and practical life skills. This exciting new program is already making a meaningful difference in participants’ lives, helping them gain the confidence and skills needed to navigate the world with greater autonomy.
Launched in August 2024, the Compass Overnight Program builds upon the more extensive Compass Program, which supports neurodiverse adults aged 18 and older with developmental disorders. Compass focuses on developing life skills, vocational training, community building, and educational planning—empowering participants to discover their potential and prepare for success. The addition of the overnight program marks an essential step in advancing this mission.
A Focus on Personal Living Skills
Set in a spacious, 3-story home on our 17-acre Roswell campus, the Compass Overnight Program offers a comfortable environment for growth. Targeting personal living goals essential for independence, the program helps participants build skills in areas such as household management, personal safety, community enrichment, and self-care.
Initially serving three clients from North Fulton, the pilot program has been thoughtfully designed to offer structured support within a therapeutic environment that nurtures growth. Participants engage in activities aimed at developing crucial life skills, including:
- Meal Planning and Preparation: Clients learn to prepare healthy meals, boosting their cooking skills and nutritional knowledge.
- Hygiene and Personal Care: Structured routines support participants in managing hygiene and self-care.
- Home Safety and Routines: Clients are trained in household responsibilities and safety protocols.
- Social Communication and Executive Functioning: Focused activities help participants practice social skills and improve executive functioning, fostering a sense of community.
Corey Barbre, program leader for the Compass Overnight Program, shares: “It’s incredibly rewarding to see clients celebrate their successes, whether it’s through creative hobbies, trying new recipes, or enjoying community outings. Clients can experience the fullness of living independently while having a trusted individual by their side. There’s no greater feeling than celebrating with clients as they meet and exceed their personal life goals.”

Building on Success
Building on the pilot program’s success, we’re thrilled to announce plans to expand enrollment in 2025. Ten additional families have already expressed interest in joining the program. A key feature of the Compass Overnight Program is its flexibility: families can choose between bi-weekly or monthly participation based on their needs and desired support level.
The program provides clients with a safe, supportive space to develop independence. It offers families peace of mind, knowing their loved ones receive personalized care from dedicated professionals. The success of this initiative has inspired further growth, with plans to extend community outings, skill-building activities, and individualized support.
With its flexible approach, dedicated staff, and focus on personalized support, the Compass Overnight Program is helping to shape a brighter future for young adults with neurodevelopmental disorders. The Compass Overnight Program is more than just a path to independence; it’s a community that empowers young adults to reach their full potential. We are honored to support them every step of the way.
