Donor gifts that support tuition assistance profoundly impact the clients they serve, as demonstrated by the Smith family’s recent experience. Lennon faced significant emotional and behavioral challenges, and her family’s search for effective support was fraught with difficulty. The Smiths were deeply moved by the generosity of foundations and donors, prompting them to share how these contributions have transformed their lives. Lennon’s grandfather, Monty Smith, said, “My wife and I want donors to know how grateful and blessed we are for their generosity and heart. Their support of Jacob’s Ladder has been a blessing for our granddaughter, Lennon, and other children like her. We all face issues, but when they affect your child or grandchild, the heartache can feel unbearable.”
Despite their efforts, the family struggled to find a solution until Jacob’s Ladder offered a lifeline. “Lennon has experienced emotional trauma outside our home that can’t be erased but can be healed. When we contacted Jacob’s Ladder and met with them, we felt it was where the Lord wanted her to be. However, we didn’t have the funds to enroll her there.”
Lennon’s life has changed profoundly thanks to the charitable support of donors and foundations, including the Luther & Susie Harrison Foundation. “Since Lennon started at Jacob’s Ladder, the transformation has been nothing short of miraculous, thanks to the staff’s expertise in treating emotional and behavioral disorders,” Monty added.
“Everyone who contributes to financial aid may never fully grasp on this side of heaven how much your generosity has helped not only our precious granddaughter but also our entire family. You’ve not only supported one child financially but have opened the door to restore our whole family.”
