Our Model of Care

At Jacob’s Ladder, we believe that every individual deserves the chance to reach their full potential, regardless of age, diagnosis, or level of functioning. Our innovative approach is built upon the scientific principle of neuroplasticity, which states that the brain can change and grow throughout a person’s lifetime. We support each client’s goals and desires, remove barriers to success, and create a roadmap to success that includes attention to learning styles and social interaction opportunities. Creating safe social environments with strong interpersonal connections enables the brain to achieve learning and new growth, preventing fight, flight or freeze trauma responses.

Our Interpersonal Whole-Brain Model of Care® (IWBMC™) is truly one-of-a-kind and transformative. It’s built upon the belief that it’s about the whole person, not just a diagnosis. We understand the complex interplay between brain health, efficiency, and organization while acknowledging an individual’s physiological health and well-being, learning style, and emotional-behavioral-relational experiences. With over three decades of experience, we have developed a deep understanding of this interplay, which is critical to understanding and achieving integration of the whole person.

Our approach is personalized and tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. We work closely with each family to ensure their loved one receives the best possible care. Our team uses a variety of evidence-based activities to help individuals overcome their challenges and achieve their goals. Creating a supportive and nurturing environment helps develop skills for success and growth.
